The Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance
The Festival of Remembrance held at the Civic Centre Uckfield on the evening of Saturday 10th October was held to commemorate, honour and remember all service personnel who lost their lives in conflict whilst serving their country.
12 branch standards from around Sussex were paraded during the ceremony with the Uckfield Branch standard carried by Mrs Mary Reed, leading the parade. Guests of honour included the Lord Lieutenant of Sussex and his wife. The Lord Lieutenant was also invited to present certificates to cadets from 2530 (Uckfield) Squadron Air Training Corps in recognition of their support and assistance in raising funds for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in 2008.
